Let There Be Light!

These were all taken with my Nikon D80 and a 10.5mm Nikkor fisheye lens. Most of them were shot with shutter speeds between 5 to 8 seconds. Nathan Keane helped me set off the fireworks and time things just right.

This image was captured Friday evening at the Webster Groves Community Days. This not the same as the one I posted two days ago. I took over 50 images at this one spot. It took me a while to figure out exactly where to get what I wanted. When I finally got there, I camped out until I got the image I was looking for. There's a little photoshop magic here, but not as much as you might think.

  • Warp Speed 3 Deer
Nikon D80 w/18-200mm at, well, a range of focal lengths (f13, 3 sec, ISO 200)

The house I wanted to shoot last night had already powered down by the time I got around to getting out, sometime after 10:30 PM. The mix of colors on this one, however, was nice.

This is a pretty standard slowly-rotate-your-zoom-lens light shot with a twist - jiggle the camera at the end to get those little berry-looking ends to the streaks.

I also have a Deer at Warp Speed 5. I'm not sure which one I prefer.
